Proposals for the Future EIA directive – Implications for Local Authorities

2.00 – 4.30pm, Tuesday 9th April 2013, London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, 33 Queen St, City of London, EC4R 1APImage

In October 2012 the European Commission launched its proposals to amend the EIA Directive (2011/92/EU). The proposals could have potentially wide ranging impacts in the way that both developers and competent authorities approach their responsibilities imposed by the Directive.

This event is directed primarily at those working for Local Authorities or in the public sector, although it may be of interest to all.

Although only proposals at this stage, it will be important that those receiving ES’s within Local Authorities and other public bodies should understand the potential implications and be able to raise both their suggestions and concerns before expected adoption in 2014.

  • Speakers:
  • Peter Cole, Principal Consultant – Temple Group
  • John Willmott-French, Senior Impact Assessment Officer – Runnymede BC
  • Richard Harwood – 39 Essex Street

This is a free event that is being held jointly by IEMA, RTPI London and hosted by Temple Group.
