Young Planners Conference: Workshop 2: London 2012: The Planning Lessons Learnt

This was a fascinating and interactive workshop led by Ian Mayhead and Ben Thomas of Savills. The workshop began with a presentation of the key Olympic venues, such as the Olympic Stadium and Velodrome, and an overview of the key considerations and challenges that were thrown up by the planning applications for the venues. This was followed by an interactive session where the delegates split into small groups. Each group were provided with plans of one of the venues and were asked to consider the key planning considerations and challenges. A Q&A followed this, which unpicked the issues. The interesting subject matter and interactive approach made for an engaging and informative workshop. Thanks to Ian and Ben and Ben from Savills for leading.
