A Big Legacy for a Big Society – the 2011 London Planning Conference

RTPI London will be hosting a day-long conference set in Stratford on 28th July 2011, a year before the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games.

The conference, sponsored by AECOM seeks to celebrate, debate and discuss the ongoing transformation of Stratford and the Lower Lea Valley with the planners who have been at the forefront of the transformation of East London.

In the context of political change and economic uncertainty we will debate how long term regeneration can be achieved, whether new delivery agencies will help in delivering a long-term legacy including the potential for Mayoral Development Corporation, Enterprise Zones, and whether Big Society ideals can deliver a “Big Legacy” for East London.

There will also be an opportunity to see the development as it happens with tours of the Olympic Site, Orbit and the Athletes Village, Westfield Stratford City and Stratford Town Centre

Speakers confirmed include RTPI President Richard Summers, Vivienne Ramsey and Steve Shaw of the Olympic Delivery Authority, Niall McNevin of the  Olympic Park Delivery Company, and representatives of London Borough of Newham, Greater London Authority, AECOM and Westfield.

RTPI London are committed to providing affordable events for RTPI members. We are therefore pleased to offer a day-long CPD conference for £75 + VAT for corporate members of the RTPI (£100 for non members)

Special discounted rates are offered to RTPI Students, RTPI Licentiates, and RTPI members who are either unemployed or retired of £50 + VAT. Organisations booking 3 places can claim a 4th place free (the cheapest price is free).
